European Association For Behaviour Analysis

Announcement:   Resolution

 Saturday, 24 January 2026

‍Dear Visitor,

We are writing to you to inform you of changes that are necessary in our organisation.

As you probably know, EABA was founded some 20+ years ago. Dr Nanni Presti was elected as President at that time and consequently, the organisation was set up in Italy.

While this arrangement worked well for a while, it came with significant challenges, one of them being a language barrier. This meant that the Board frequently had to ask Nanni for help with translations and other organisational duties. This was neither fair on Nanni, nor is it efficient for the organisation. Another solution is long overdue.

After lengthy discussions, we feel that moving the organisation to a native English speaking European country would be most beneficial. We propose a move to Ireland. Ireland has many benefits and it is in the EU and uses Euros, the main currency within EABA.

We suggest setting up EABA as a Company Limited by Guaranteed (CLG) in Ireland, with a view to gaining charitable status ASAP after this (that is the usual process).

In preparation for this process and in consultation with our accountant, we have revised the EABA constitution slightly (see attached) to ensure that it adheres to requirements for eventually gaining charitable status.

FAQ:

·      Will EABA remain a membership organisation? YES

·      Will EABA continue to organise conferences, summer schools, webinars, and student awards? YES

·      Will EABA continue to elect a Board as before? YES

·      Will membership benefits remain the same? YES

·      Will EABA be more efficient? YES

·      Will EABA be able to apply for funding? YES

·      Will EABA welcome affiliated chapters? YES

As you can see, there are many advantages in favour of the move. At this time, we need membership agreement for us to proceed.
